Standard development for CAD data exchange in the Japanese construction field

Abstract: The Japan Construction Information Centre is in the process of organising a consortium in accordance with the Construction CALS/EC Action Program that has been established by the Ministry of Construction (MOC). The Centre is currently engaged in the development and testing of an infrastructure base for the distribution of drawing data (CAD data) with a view to creating a shared environment for the smooth exchange of data among all users, including public owners. This report gives an outline of the efforts that are being made.
