Abstract: An effective detection and diagnosis of faults is desirable for online condition monitoring, assessment, product quality assurance and improved operational efficiency of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drives. The proposed fault diagnosis and management system uses the measured phase voltages, currents and speed of the motor. In this article, a Matlab/Simulink model-based fault diagnosis system is developed and simulated for SRM drive. The simulation results show that the SRM drive is capable of operating under faulty conditions.
