Study of university curriculum development for human resource management and the expectations of business managers
by Jennifer Shu-Jen Lin
International Journal of Business and Systems Research (IJBSR), Vol. 2, No. 4, 2008

Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to investigate and analyse curriculum development systems for 'Human Resource Management' (HRM) at universities' business management faculties as well as analyse the expectations that managers at listed companies in different industries have of these programmes. A questionnaire survey targeted at HR managers of listed companies in different industries was developed for this study based on 'HRM'-related curricula offered by university business management faculties. Using this survey, the differences between expectations of business managers in the high-technology, financial, service, and manufacturing industries were then analysed based on survey results.
