A contribution on the study of cold forging of steel helical gears

Abstract: In this work it was designed a cold forging tooling for the manufacturing of steel helical gears by lateral extrusion. The results obtained from forging tests and numerical simulation are presented and demonstrated that this process is very capable to achieve in one step parts with excellent overall quality.
