International Journal of Trade and Global Markets (IJTGM), Vol. 1, No. 3, 2008

Abstract: The international business is based on employee's specialties and skills. This paper explores the challenges occurring in the global management of these employees. Various approaches to the management and recruitment of employees in subsidiaries that the organisation has established in different countries are presented. Basic functions of IHRM among the recruitment and selection of new employees, development and training, assessment of work efficiency as well as labour relations at both practical and theoretical levels have been discussed in this paper. Since the UAE has legislation and restrictions concerning the hiring of expatriates, part of this paper is dedicated to the description of the additional challenges occurring in the management of these employees.
