Small-technology education with scanning probe microscopy: examples of programmes from around the world
by Stephan Stucklin
International Journal of Technology Transfer and Commercialisation (IJTTC), Vol. 7, No. 2/3, 2008

Abstract: The growing importance of small technologies calls both for an educated populace and an educated workforce. This paper presents different examples of how educators have used scanning probe microscopy to teach interdisciplinary courses centred on small technology. In all cases, practical and hands-on experience forms an integral part of the learning experience. It is hoped that this paper would encourage creative small-technology education and further exchange between interested parties.
