Modern cam design
by Ronald G. Mosier
International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 23, No. 1/2, 2000

Abstract: Modern methodology of automotive cam design is presented. Those newer techniques that, in the author's opinion, show the most promise are briefly described and references are given. Descriptions of methods and computations are in only enough detail to show the basic theory. A very brief discussion of splines is given, followed by an outline of cam design starting with valve motion and finishing with manufacturing tests.
