Abstract: This paper aims to deliver a comprehensive understanding on case study research and a framework called 'EBM-REP' for knowledge integration. Despite the merits like 'theory building on how and why basis', case study methodology discourages the researchers for its inability to establish theoretical territory. The proposed conceptualisation can be seen as an attempt towards deepening the understanding in case research on a 'systems' perspective' (Senge, 1994) by breaking a situation into salient components, analysing them and integrating the results to provide new insights.
