Parametric resonance analysis on simplified Planetary Gear Trains
by Jianming Yang, Liming Dai
International Journal of Materials and Product Technology (IJMPT), Vol. 31, No. 2/3/4, 2008

Abstract: The possible parametric resonance of a simplified planetary gear train, including primary resonance and combinational resonance, is analysed with a multiple scale method. Viscous damping is incorporated into the analysis and the different effects of viscous damping on primary and combinational resonance are investigated. The transition curves dividing the stable and instable regions at resonance frequencies are expressed in closed form.
