Computer assisted classification of internal damages in the 10CrMo9-10 steel working in creep service

International Journal of Computational Materials Science and Surface Engineering (IJCMSSE), Vol. 1, No. 6, 2007

Abstract: This paper presents the computer assisted method for analysis of scanning electron microscope metallographic images of elements after long time operating in creep conditions. The durability of the structural elements of the power installations may be estimated with the limited certainty only. The presented method based on analysis of images, shape coefficients and neural networks was proposed as a tool to evaluate the internal damage classes of power industry installation elements from 10CrMo9-10 steel.
