Abstract: This paper outlines the development of an optimisation strategy to determine the optimum cutting parameters for CNC multitool drilling system. The developed mathematical model is based on 'minimisation of production cost' and incorporates various technological and machine tool constraints. A new approach for the optimal selection is presented using non-traditional techniques such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Simulated Annealing (SA) and Ants Colony Algorithm.
