Abstract: The maximum entropy generation approach is adopted to develop the exergy model for a Photovoltaic (PV) heat exchanger with vertical heat exchange sections under critical operation of buoyancy-induced hybrid airflow. The Photovoltaic (PV) heat exchanger was constructed with two adjacent Photovoltaic (PV) modules with double-glass faces and back panel and assembled on a wooden duct and framing structure. The entropy matrix is formulated for performing conjugate entropy exchange calculations with convective, conductive and radiation exchange of entropies. The model is developed and validated with complementary measurements obtained from the experimental apparatus setup in an outdoor test room facility at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
