Abstract: This paper shows how technology had to look to new directions of development to meet the current industrial context characteristics i.e. the changes of demand specifications. Needs for equipment flexibility, quality control and products electronisation are described. Technological choices criteria are also listed, with emphasis on prototypes extrapolation problems, normalisation and certification needs, modularity advantage, conception modifications, equipment environment importance, logistics use and human resources formation.
