Abstract: Our work aims to improve the reuse of existing software components to build learning and knowledge management applications and systems. In earlier work, we suggested a platform-independent set of metadata that covers the main specifications of software components, called SOftware COmponent Metadata (SOCOM), to reference digital resources in a software components repository. In this paper, we describe an aggregation process that facilitates building new components. This process is driven by metadata and models and is supported by a proposed framework. Our prototype is developed and experimented in the context of the TELOS System, built within the LORNET Project.
