Abstract: The emerging research agenda of 'creative cities' sheds some light on developing a new direction of innovation and management literature. Following this issue, we empirically examine the structural relations among talent, social places (third places) and entrepreneurship through a telephone survey on Taiwan's seven major metropolises. We suggest the existence of third places as an intermediate variable linking the others. Interestingly, a location attraction for talents, which may depend on lifestyle in USA, needs to take family bonds into account in Taiwan. This paper hopes to show a new research direction on the social context of creativity.
