International Journal of Precision Technology (IJPTECH), Vol. 1, No. 1, 2007

Abstract: This paper introduces a new study on the calculation of the cost of recycled abrasives and the total cost when cutting with new and recycled abrasives in Abrasive Waterjet (AWJ) machining. In this study, many cost components such as machine cost, labour cost, power cost and so on were taken into account both for calculation of the recycled abrasive cost and AWJ cutting cost. In addition, a comparison of the effectiveness of two famous recycled systems was presented. Moreover, some designing suggestions for a new effective recycling system were introduced. A procedure for cost comparison between recycled and new abrasives as well as between two new abrasives was also proposed.
