Abstract: An electromagnetic inductor for Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (MAF) has been designed and manufactured for effective deburring of burrs formed on a plane along the edge of holes during drilling and piercing. The characteristics of this inductor are analysed in this paper. To find the effective operating conditions for the MAF process, the duration of complete deburring was calculated to compare the performance of the process with that of others. The rotation speed, feed velocity, current, frequency and amplitude of the vibration table were changed to determine the effective conditions for deburring.
