Abstract: Knowledge Management (KM) in organisations has already been recognised as an important factor of the competitiveness of an enterprise. One of the advantages it brings is speeding up the innovative process by accessing the right knowledge at the right time. It also helps managers to make the right decisions, providing them with all the knowledge relevant to actual problems. This paper presents an approach for applying knowledge discovery in databases to KM. The proposed knowledge discovery application extracts and analyses the data and information kept in a large enterprise information system, creating knowledge that is very functional and workable for management and decision makers.
