Abstract: This paper provides insights into the relationship between action research and constructivist leadership, teaching and practice. Key elements of action research are analysed in terms of the insight that the process is involved in constructing meaning. Since this constitutes the essence of the constructivist process, the authors perceive both as involving identical processes – they are the same side of the coin.
