Abstract: In cloud computing, VM placement over the physical servers is more significant as it enhances the performance concerning efficient energy utilisation and resource allocation. This research work concentrates on various issues related to VM placement in order to reduce the overall energy consumption and uncertainty issues. To further analyse the resource request variations, this study proposes a deterministic lightweight VM placement approach (DL-VMPA) with the genetic concept. Here, an uncertainty issue is formulated and resolved using the DL-VMPA model. In order to attain global results with reduced power consumption by using the adopted physical machines, the proposed model is optimised by using an optimiser. The emerging different resource requirements are subjective to probabilistic resource overflow (demand for memory/CPU), which exceeds the maximal capability of PM service. The proposed DL-VMPA model can handle the uncertainty issues with optimal VM placement and satisfactory resource allocation. Furthermore, the proposed model enhances the exploration solution and resolves the uncertainty issues. Here, the simulation is carried out in the MATLAB environment to project the reliability and efficiency of the proposed model.
