International Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (IJBET), Vol. 1, No. 1, 2007

Abstract: Medical image fusion has been used to derive useful information from multi-modality medical image data. In this research, transform domain image fusion approaches for fusing medical images of two different modalities Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CT and MRI) are proposed. Wavelet transform and Karhunen-Loeve (K-L) transform are implemented with different fusion rules. The results are compared for the evaluation of performances of the methods of image fusion.
