Network organisation: a system exegesis
by Nikos A. Antivachis, Vasilis A. Angelis
International Journal of Applied Systemic Studies (IJASS), Vol. 1, No. 1, 2007

Abstract: This paper focuses on the causes and reasons that have made the emergence of the network organisation eminent as well as the resulting tradeoffs of such a development. In particular, it addresses the issue of hyperturbulence and systematic exegesis for the emergence of the network organisation; defines the different types of linkages established, crossing organisational boundaries; determines the interdependencies between resources and tasks; constructs the value chain system interorganisationally; and discusses the dilemma between a hierarchical form of organisation with tight coupling and a disaggregated organisation with loose coupling.
