Abstract: Through a systematic and comprehensive review, this study seeks to identify gaps in research on consumer behaviour related to geographical indications and provides recommendations for advances in this field of study. The work adopts a systematic literature review, focusing on two main databases, namely Scopus and Web of Science. In total, 133 articles (from 2001 to 2021) published in peer-reviewed academic journals were analysed. Moreover, in addition to bibliometric reflections, this article seeks to contribute to the body of knowledge on consumer behaviour and geographical indications, outlining a research agenda for future investigations.
