Abstract: In order to the predict the interrelationship between marine environment, unmanned surface vehicle (USV) state and the task execution intrinsic factor, express the macro state and development trend of the USV situation in real time, express the knowledge representation of the whole situation with a single knowledge representation, the decision module can directly extract situational cognitive results of different levels and different types in each stage. The system framework of situation cognitive approach is proposed in this paper, which includes environmental event recognition, influence degree of uncertain events calculation, executive capability assessment, task recommendation and comprehensive situation cognition. The situation cognitive approach based on the combination of fuzzy logic and Bayesian network is proposed to achieve cognitive process. The approach was validated by marine experiments and simulating experiments for USV. Results show the effectiveness of situation cognitive approach.
