Abstract: The rapid development and the large number of existing web services have led to a demand for a discovery mechanism. Researchers have developed Matchmakers to match web service requesters and providers. Current Matchmakers are adequate when locating web services that use the same ontology but they do not support the matching of semantic web services that use different ontologies. This paper introduces a Matchmaker which locates web services that use different ontologies. The Matchmaker algorithm, which incorporates a means of distinguishing different ontologies, is presented, together with the overall architecture of the Matchmaker engine.
