Effect of sodium hyaluronate-based nanoprobe in rehabilitation of tendon injury and tendon adhesion

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the role of nanoprobe fibres mediated by sodium hyaluronate in rehabilitation of tendon injury and adhesion. Hyaluronic acid (HA) nanoprobes (HA/NPs) were prepared by solvent removal method and loaded into poly ε-caprolactone (PCL) fibres to prepare nanofibre membranes with different orientations. 60 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into control group, model group, aPCL group, rPCL group, aPCL+HA group, and rPCL+HA group according to different materials, so as to compare tenomodulin (TNMD) and scleraxis (SCX) expression levels in tendon tissues of each group. Results showed that cumulative release of bFGF in vitro of aPCL+HA was twice that of rPCL+HA (P < 0.05); average tensile strength of aPCL+HA was higher than that of rPCL+HA (P < 0.01); SCX and TNMD expressions were higher than those of control group (P < 0.01). Therefore, aPCL+HA nanoprobe fibre mediated by sodium hyaluronate had good tendon repair ability in tendon adhesion rehabilitation.
