Abstract: In order to improve the efficiency of the electric vehicle drive system, the main and auxiliary motors of the dual motor coupling drive system of electric vehicle are designed in this paper. Considering the performance parameters and related standards of the target vehicle, the electromagnetic design of the motor is carried out, The finite element analysis of the designed motor model was carried out with Maxwell 2D module, and the variation of parameters such as magnetic lines of force, flux density distribution, electromagnetic torque and other parameters during the operation of the motor was obtained by analysing the operating performance of the two motors in steady and transient fields. The research results show that the maximum output power and maximum efficiency of the main motor are 100 kW and 95.7%, respectively, and the maximum output power and maximum efficiency of the auxiliary motor are 60 kW and 96.9%, respectively.
