Abstract: Emotional intelligence and job stress are two distinct phenomenon but both play an important role in work-life balance. To recognise one's own and other's emotions and make intelligent choices is known as emotional intelligence. Stress is a situation which is demanding and threatening because of the external environment. The employees of the healthcare sector are faced with intense demand of work which leads to job stress and affects their personal and professional life adversely. This study is an attempt to identify the relation and impact of job stress and emotional intelligence on the work-life balance of nurses in India. This is a cross-sectional study and the sample consists of 115 nurses from Delhi NCR (National Capital Region). The findings reveal that job stress and emotional intelligence have a significant relationship with work-life. Furthermore, the results show that emotional intelligence is strongly linked to work-life balance.
