Key enablers of successful digital transformation: an exploratory sequential mixed methods study
by Riham Adel
International Journal of Agile Systems and Management (IJASM), Vol. 15, No. 3, 2022

Abstract: Digital transformation has attracted the attention of academia, yet to date, the majority of research contributions are from developed countries. 60% of the research stream is qualitative with limited quantitative contributions. It was reported that the low success rates of digital transformation were due to a lack of consensus about digital transformation enabling factors. The shortage in measurement frameworks and the need for empirical studies from different countries and industries were noted. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore, conceptualise, and prioritise the digital transformation key enabling factors. Consequently, integrate into the proposed organisation maturity measurement model, in order to guide organisations' pursuing digitalisation in its strategic renewal and structural decision-making. The model is quantitatively validated, and its goodness-for-fit is affirmed. The hypothesised relationship between the key enablers and successful digital transformation is accepted indicating a positive total effect of β value = 0.761 with empirical evidence from Egyptian petrochemicals organisations.
