Duryodhana, 'the leader': traced beyond 'the known'
by Anila Aravindakshan Pillai; Urvashi Kaushal
International Journal of Indian Culture and Business Management (IJICBM), Vol. 27, No. 3, 2022

Abstract: The paper seeks to observe The Mahabharata as a mythical narrative, to undergo an explorative study and evaluate the possibilities of values and traits from multiple perspectives. The humongous literature has been diluted into fiction with episodes extracted to elucidate individual characters. The outstanding content wrapped in immense wisdom when probed on leadership especially of the shaded characters, widens new vistas of learning and understanding. The paper seeks to observe through discourse methodology, Anand Neelakanthan's works Ajaya: Roll of Dice and book two Ajaya, Rise of Kali: Duryodhana's Mahabharata respectively that attempts to break the dichotomy and centres on new avenues of thoughts with variation among identical plot construction. The focal point here is on Duryodhana who is less exposed in terms of understanding and leading. For him perceiving the world as an opportunity and taking a chance to change was the truest thing a leader should do for his people.
