by Rajni Gautam; Abhilasha; Neeraj Kumari
International Journal of Nanoparticles (IJNP), Vol. 14, No. 2/3/4, 2022

Abstract: Metal nanoparticles are a promising candidate for the fabrication of nanosensors because of their high specific surface area and capability of high detection sensitivity. The main aim of this review paper is to provide an overview of nanosensors and their classification based on their energy source, structure, application, and receptor molecules along with their working mechanism and recent advancements in the field of nanosensors. Synthesis and applications of metal-based nanoparticles (metal/metal sulphide nanoparticles/metal-organic framework/doped metal or metal oxide nanoparticles) in the sensing field are discussed in detail.
