Abstract: In this paper, we define a high-level model to mathematically capture the semantical meaning of abstract Virtual Providers (VPs), their instantiation and their composition into rich mediator structures. We will show how this model can be sucessfully applied to two application scenarios, web service protocol mediation and Semantic Web Service(SWS) discovery.
