Abstract: This teaching case study recounts effective time management (ETM) challenges faced by a new employee at a large kitchen and plumbing supply company. Specifically, we recount how the employee navigated internal stakeholder relationships while attempting to achieve organisational goals. Undergraduate students in organisational behaviour, principles of management, and/or introduction to business courses are asked to identify how various employees contributed to the time management challenges the new employee faced. Additionally, we ask students to analyse how personality, managerial, organisational, and cultural elements contributed to the challenging environment detailed in the case. Finally, students are encouraged to consider solutions to overcoming such issues in the workplace.
