Examination of educational situations related to augmented reality in art education

Abstract: Augmented reality applications, which have gained popularity in recent years, help to benefit students in the field of education to actualise their potential. As technology changes on a daily basis, it becomes a necessity to ensure that art education keeps up-to-date against these challenges. This research aimed at using the 'Aurasma' program based on expressionism and impressionism is to be applied on art course curricula in K4-K5 grades of Northern Cyprus schools. Mixed methodology was used in the study. An interview form and mini-questionnaire set was applied. According to the results obtained from the research, it can be said that the use of 'mobile augmented reality' and 'Aurasma' application in the art class benefits the students. Aurasma application also shows students motivation increased in the classroom. They had fun while learning in the class, and the application provided a flexible learning environment and benefited for student studies.
