Coordinated development of industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region

Abstract: Coordinated development of industries is an important part of regional economic sustainability. This paper takes the coordinated development of industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) region of China as a research object. Based on an analysis of the status of industrial development in BTH region, the pattern and trend of the spatial shift of industries, and the difficulties in industrial transformation and upgrading located in this region are revealed referring to indicators such as level of regional relative specialisation and inter-regional specialisation, industrial spatial concentration. Policy recommendations for the coordinated industry development in BTH region are proposed with regard to industrial gradient transfer, optimisation of spatial layout, and regional innovation cooperation.
