Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a lasting impact on economies and businesses across the globe. The purpose of this paper is to have a closer look at the measures adopted by the Indian hotel industry in order to tide over the challenges and disruptions posed by pandemic and measures adopted for future growth. The research is based on primary data obtained through a survey study and uses exploratory factor analysis. Our findings suggest that the sector focused majorly on price cuts and cost cutting measures in order to tide over the COVID-19 pandemic. Other measures adopted include marketing of safe tourism, revenue enhancement and resource conservation measures. With regard to the future, our findings suggest renewed focus towards attracting domestic tourists through the increasing use of technology and workforce restructuring are major thrust areas.
