International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management (IJLSM), Vol. 42, No. 2, 2022

Abstract: Blockchain technology (BT), also known as a disruptive technology, has been recognised publicly in financial applications especially after the introduction of Bitcoins. However, recent studies show that the inherited characteristics of this technology enhance the concepts of supply chain management (SCM), assisting in verifiable and reliable transactional records. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the current state of BT-SCM literature applying in systematic literature review approach. A total of 38 papers have been examined through the analysis, and the results reveal that the field of research is still in its initial stage. In addition, this paper provides the main research directions on the concept from previous studies selected from high impact management journals. Three research directions: BT adoption, BT impact and BT applicability and their key dimensions were identified through content analysis. Therefore, the main contribution of this study is to provide some insights and practical implications for future studies on this context.
