Abstract: Energy conservation is a long-term strategic policy of China's economic development, and the issue of energy resources has become a strategic issue in country's economic development. At present, the management level of open-pit coal mine is relatively low, and energy audit is less carried out, energy audit provides data analysis, benchmarking management, technical reform suggestions and other contents for the current energy consumption of enterprises, which can increase the energy management of enterprises and reduce energy waste. This study takes the open-pit coal mine as an example, the research shows that energy consumption in the transportation process of an open-pit mine is the highest, most of which comes from diesel oil. Optimising truck transportation routes and reducing truck waiting time are the most important ways to save energy in open-pit mines. The highest are the annual transportation volume of trucks, the lowest the annual average diesel fuel consumption. The energy consumption monitoring of large electric shovels is necessary. Electric-driven mining and stripping equipment can replace oil with electricity and reduce energy consumption.
