Abstract: This work studies the problem of stability analysis and the design of the fault-tolerant control (FTC) for neutral time delay systems. Improved stability criteria are obtained by applying the Lyapunov method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. An adaptive-observer is designed to detect and estimate the fault, based on LMI approach the observer gains matrices are obtained. Then, a new control law is proposed to achieve fault compensation, this control law is based on the ability to maintain the overall stability of the system in the presence of fault. A numerical example is given to illustrate our theoretical results.
