Abstract: In this study, the impact of business-IT alignment on organisational agility was investigated. The research data were collected from 139 employees of Qazvin Telecommunication Company from Iranian telecommunication areas and analysed by structural equation modelling (SEM) and path analysis using AMOS software. Results obtained from the analysis of the research data show that intellectual alignment in the organisation can increase agility by influencing inertia as a mediator factor, and does not confirm the positive effect of intellectual alignment on organisational agility. Moreover social alignment with emergent coordination mediation has a positive effect on organisational agility, whereas intellectual alignment with organisational inertia mediation has no significant effect on organisational agility.
