Abstract: An optimisation solution for DSR routing protocol cache management strategy based on local connection mechanism is proposed to solve the problem that DSR routing protocol can easily cause incorrect routing and cause network performance degradation when dealing with dynamically changing network topology. A local connection mechanism is introduced to ensure the reachability of links between nodes and improve the accuracy of cached routing entries. Finally, using the network simulation tool NS-3 to test the improved DSR routing protocol after the cache strategy, compare the packet delivery rate of the nodes before and after the optimisation, the route initiation frequency and the average delay. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the packet data delivery rate of the DSR routing protocol and reduce the average delay and enhance the overall performance of the protocol.
