Preparation of Ag nanoparticles on a dye substrate

International Journal of Nanomanufacturing (IJNM), Vol. 1, No. 2, 2006

Abstract: A simple and new technique has been developed to make Ag nanoparticles on a dye molecule. It is based on the attraction of the lone pair of electrons of the −NH2 group of the dye, with the positively charged Ag ions from the AgNO3 solution. An absorption spectrum of the Ag nanoparticles with the variation of layer has been taken. From the FE-SEM, we can get an idea of the pattern of the Ag nano clusters with the increase of layer. Gradual changes of shape and sizes of Ag nanoparticles have been observed. The results are discussed.
