Innovative difference based on genetic distance model: an empirical analysis of technology innovation

Abstract: Technology innovation is a key driving force for economic growth, and many factors influence the difference in technological innovation between regions. In this study, genetic distances are assessed by using various measures among ethnic groups. These measures, however, compare their values to each other, but they may say that the genetic distances are farther or closer. Statistically, they do not provide a significant difference between the proportions of alleles that constitute single nucleotide polymorphism in ethnic groups. This study demonstrates that there is a relationship between the test statistic about genetic equivalence and the genetic distance in ethnic groups. As a result, both the absolute genetic distance and the relative genetic distance, which are indicators reflecting the genetic distance, showed a significant positive effect on the gap of technological innovation.
