Abstract: Data hiding is an important technique in the research area of information security. A lot of methods have been proposed to embed secret data into different formats of compressed images. The JPEG and AMBTC formats attract much attention. The extended LBP (ELBP) is a new subject to deal with. In this paper, we apply the reference matrix-based data hiding technique to the ELBP cover images. Our major objective is to improve the security level of embedding scheme. Experimental results show that the proposed method not only improves the security but also enhances visual quality of the produced stego images. In addition, the new scheme provides a more flexible embedding capacity for different applications.
