Service supply chain management: a literature review
by Aziz Hmioui; Badr Bentalha
International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management (IJLSM), Vol. 40, No. 3, 2021

Abstract: Most of the work carried out on the supply chain management (SCM) theme has long favoured the industrial firm. They have more, or less consciously excluded the service company. Admittedly, several articles have been devoted in the past to logistics service providers and transport companies, but without always relying on the contributions of service management. The purpose of this article is to review the current literature on SCM and its application in service companies. The issue is to determine whether there is a consensus on its definition, its aspects discussed and the methodologies chosen. The review of 53 articles shows that SCM definitions and approaches differ from one study to another. Many studies have examined the performance of the SCM, either globally, or partially, but again, it is difficult to compare them given the multiplicity of approaches used.
