The common factors of a lean and agile manufacturing system were analysed by weighted interpretive structural modelling (W-ISM) approach. ISM approach is well suited for demonstrating the implementation of lean and agile manufacturing concepts in several aspects of the rolling industry while the comprehensive index (CI) further augments the recognition of such key factors. The analysis of CI value will help the managers from the rolling industry in implementing the lean-agile manufacturing systems.
