A ubiquitous project management model based on context

Abstract: The context of project management often involves a high degree of uncertainty. Approaches to minimise this uncertainty and to provide proactive risk management regarding the right allocation of individuals in project teams are needed. They could reduce risks such as planning deviations from the targeted time, cost, and quality of the project. In this sense, this paper proposes a model to support risk and activity management, aimed at the allocation of individuals in projects through an ontology based on the concepts of the activity theory. This model - named Kairos - can help the allocation of appropriate resources to each project. The scenarios and prototypes applied in the evaluation of the model demonstrate its suitability and utility to support project managers.
