Abstract: The aerodynamic and structural designs of the blades are very important to increase the energy output and strength of the turbine. Composite materials are utilised in wind turbines and composite properties such as material type, layer thickness, layer number, layer angles can be optimised to design a composite structure. This paper includes the determination study of optimum layer sequence. For this study, ANSYS Composites PrepPost Module (ACP) was run to model composite layers of the wind turbine blade. Moreover, the composite turbine blade was analysed using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in terms of determination of pressure distribution over the blade and strength behaviour based on this pressure distribution. According to the analysis results, lower deformations were obtained at 0° orientation angles and upper deformations were seen at 90° orientation angles. Moreover, the equivalent stress at the 90° orientation angle was minimum and the maximum equivalent stress occurred at the 45° orientation.
