Abstract: Ocean wave energy conversion is an emergent and highly important research topic in Vietnam. In an early research work, an experimental permanent magnet linear energy generator was developed and studied. In this contribution, we have utilised a mix method of combination, the Ansys numerical simulation with a MATLAB-Simulink program to study the effect of different mechanical and electrical structural components on the performance of a linear generator using multiple dual Halbach magnet arrays. Results have shown that the simulation approach is useful for finding out the appropriate structural parameters of both the mechanical and electrical components and the design to obtain optimised satisfactory performance features, such as efficiency and maximal output power of the system.
