Abstract: Companies in every industry and of every size are increasingly confronted with the potential for change that digitisation offers. Although scientific research has started to examine the effects of digitisation on business models by conducting case study research, this relevant field faces numerous challenges. This paper aims to answer the question of how the landscape of case study research in IS and management research is structured on the intersection of digitisation and business model innovation. Therefore, we conduct a citation network analysis of case studies. We identify both the central theoretical findings on business model innovation and the fundamental works on the case study research method. Our results reveal four relevant literature clusters. In this way, we enable future research to place its contribution both theoretically in the existing research landscape and to ensure a high methodological quality of the research.
